Ag Valley Co-op has installed a new grain dryer at its Edison location, increasing drying capacity and providing growers with more flexibility during harvest.
The previous dryers had reached the end of life and limited the facility’s ability to accommodate growers wanting to harvest corn at moisture levels of 18% or higher. The new dryer can process approximately 5,000 bushels per hour when removing five points of moisture, totaling up to 120,000 bushels per day.
“Our customers were looking for more flexibility when deciding when to begin harvest,” said Brendon Vlasin, Vice President of Grain at Ag Valley Co-op. “This investment gives us the speed and capacity needed to better accommodate today’s harvest equipment and meet the needs of growers delivering wet corn.”
The dryer can handle corn, milo, wheat and soybeans. It will improve operational efficiency at Edison while helping Ag Valley continue providing dependable grain services to area growers.
